It has good access via a single gateway off the council-maintained Gonsal Cross Road to the A49 trunk road.
The land is bounded to the west by the railway line, with the boundary constituting metal railway fencing, and to the east by a tributary of the Cound Brook.
The land is classified as Grade 3 according to the Provisional Agricultural Land Classification.
